I am a voracious reader, I love movies and enjoy music. I also watch TV shows. I figured I might as well chronicle the good times!

Inception
I love films that stay with you long after the credits have rolled. The film was all that and more. Well worth the decade in creation. But enough has been said and done. I think DVD is warranted. Amazon - here I come.

I found the Force
The StarWars books are in the library and second one down. The films make more sense now. Why didnt I think of this before. Its interesting that we assume that aliens and clones will have the same weaknesses and emotions as we do. Maybe they wont waste their time with emotion and focus on intelligence. If i were building a clone, I would!

Love Sex Aur Dhokha
Its a brave film to make, because it was not likely to do well - breaks away from too many formulas but it does possess every cliche possible. That they kept it so close to the edge in a distasteful sort of way made the story seem plausible. The Soundtrack was not too shabby again in a grubby sort of way, but did not really get its place in the sun.
The Hurt Locker
So She made a film about "war being a drug" that is where the thought ended. i liked the film, but i dont think the film was about painting agression an addiction and war as a drug. Instead I thought it was another war film. And as war movies go - it was well made, the SFX were cool - the attention to detail made it engrossing.
Kites, The Soundtrack. Raavan, The Soundtrack
Kites: Heard it and no song stayed with me. I am not walking around with a melody or a beat pounding in my head. The soundtrack of Raavan however is with me when i sleep - Khili Re or Behene De and I wake up to Beera. All this is in my head. On my iPod is the whole soundtrack and even though I try to democratize the listenign process with shuffle, I do end up skipping till I find shuffle offering me Ranjha, Ranjha.

CSI, Criminal Minds, New Tricks, Spooks, House....
I love most of these shows - Judge John Deed - My Tata Sky memory is full of them. Neeraj asked me 'why?' I thought it was a good thing I wasnt a soapaholic. But perhaps it is disturbing that I can watch the horrors that I watch. Food for thought.

America's Favourite Recipes, by Good Homes and Gardens
It was first published 10 years before I was born. And the fry that, Grease that proves that. But its a good book with the basics. Mine was my mom's, possibly my nani's. :-) Its still unhealthy. But i am working my way through it. Not trying the bakes (50% of the book) "I have to get myself one of them ovens first!!!" No meats - fish poultry, eggs and dessert.... Simple enough to follow, but not interesting to read.

Anna Karenina
Started anna karenina. Reading the classics puts me in a better mood. I will keep posting right here as I go along. I even loved Portrait of a lady, but thats a whole different blog.
I wish I could ice skate though.

Julie and Julia
Read it since I had decide to learn how to cook. Then decided to blog about it. So it lamely made me do this. But the book was an utter let down. Self indulgent and hurried - especially towards the end. Julia Child was right, Julie was a hack! Did not like the book, so that will end my review.

Up In The Air
My mom didn't like it. I thought it was just the fact that it was George Clooney, I tend to like the movie he does - except Goats!!! I like it. It is extremism. But I liked it. I wonder what its like to live in a suitcase. I have a friend, Tenzin Tsundue who lives out of a backpack. The pseudo-philosophical only adds to the emptiness of his life. And yet, who is to judge what makes someone else happy. But the thing that is evident is that George Clooney does not need co-actors. Anna Kendrick is irrelevant and unbelievable. Her breakdown with the boyfriend is staged and contrite. Vera Farmiga is cool. Jason Bateman should go back since his is really arrested development.
